Talking about body and soul
| 日本語 | English |
I began walking when raising my children because it seemed like the one thing I could do to resolve my struggles: I wanted to get rid of my post-partum weight; I wanted to change the humdrum of my daily life; and I wanted to do something with myself. From there I found that
gradually,
over time,
as I enjoyed walking, I discovered a special style of walking that anyone can do.
This is posture walking.
This new style of walking can be practiced every day and allows you to effectively use physical movement to exercise both your body and soul.
The body and the soul are connected. When your body changes, so does your soul.
One unique element of this exercise is the fact that muscles
at the back of the body are primarily used.
As a result, you will notice the following changes. (Results
may vary.)
First, you will experience changes to your body.
1 More highly toned hips and reduced clothing size
2 Firmer, longer looking legs
3 Beautifully toned back
4 Toned upper arms
5 Flatter stomach
6 More definition in the face
7 Larger bust
8 Added height
These were, in fact, changes that my body underwent.
And many of my students have experienced them as well.
Originally I thought that I wanted to be thin but, rather than just losing weight, my body has become trim and fit as a result of my regimen.
I gained muscle.
My weight has hardly changed, but I’ve successfully eliminated
complexes I once had about my body.
You, too, can work towards achieving an elegant and refined
figure any time over the course of your day-to-day life.
You, too, can wear what you like with confidence.
Also,
I have experienced change within myself.
1 I learned to truly love myself.
2 I learned to value myself.
3 I am no longer afraid of aging.
4 I am proud of myself.
5 I have become deeply grateful for all the things and
people around me.
6 Good things keep happening, and I have found happiness.
I woke up to the fact that I was in a happy environment.
I was blessed, but had never noticed.
If we do not use our bodies properly, then our minds
also fail to work well.
People who practice posture walking have a sparkle in their eyes.
I can see it.
The difference between people with good posture, and
those with bad posture, can be seen in their faces.
Their eyes shine and, even without make–up, there is
clear definition in the face and a bold shape in the
lips.
It’s all connected, to the body.
There’s no way to cheat it.
The eyes and face are freshly sculpted by the facial
muscles.
It appears that the facial muscles are pulled from the
back of the body.
At the end of each lesson, I can see the difference in my students’ eyes from
when they came in.
And I can see the new definition in their faces.
Some students change after just one lesson.
It amazes me. How we can all become so beautiful just by using our bodies properly.
No matter what make up you use or trendy clothes you wear or how you style your
hair,
bad posture ruins everything. It makes it everything
else look fake.
People with radiant expressions appear to carry an intense
agility when they move.
This is because they are using their bodies properly.
An invigorated body leads to a spirited mind. Your body holds great power.
I saw one student the other day who I had not seen in roughly
a year.
She took one look at me and said, “You are slimmer than
ever! And your face has been lifted…and your bust has
grown!!”
It’s true. And I’m proud.
Last year I faced health problems due to overwork, so I made an effort to slow
down the pace of my life while diligently continuing my posture walking
lessons.
Naturally, I didn’t have any special salon facials, tried
any diets, or had any sort of breast implants during
this time.
When giving myself facials, I would borrow the words of the famous Japanese beauty
specialist Chizu Sakeki, and tell myself, “Be beautiful, be lifted. I
am beautiful.”
Each morning I look in the mirror before I go out, and
cast my magic by noting, “Today, again, I am perfect!”
After making a wish that the day’s lessons go well, I ready myself by straightening
my back
as I head off to the station.
All I have done is try to walk as properly as I can.
People with invigorated bodies, have spirited minds as well.
It’s hard to tell exactly which comes first, but the
mind and body clearly share the same groundwork.
We are born into our bodies.
And I have realized just how meaningful it is for us
to take charge of these vessels.
When you are in control of your body, it is easier for you to control your mind.
As you walk you’ll find that your mind clears and you’ll feel more at ease. You may even begin to hum. Your circulation is enhanced and oxygen is delivered to every inch of your body as you exercise it from head to toe. This action will stir the recesses of your mind and help wash away any unnecessary weight that it carries.
It is impossible to improve your mind while neglecting your body.
This is the conclusion that I have reached over the past
decade.
Moreover, I have great news. The body holds even greater potential than we know.
The body holds amazing power, and this power draws happiness
to us.
My life has changed, and countless doors have opened for me—more than I could
have ever imagined.
Walking has brought me this luck. I now realize just
how easy it is to be happy.
It cannot be done in a single day.
You have to keep on walking, step by step.
You continue along the path that you believe in. Then
one day you will discover that the landscape and season
have changed.
Starting your upward spiral of happiness
There’s no answer as to what should be in our hearts,
and no way of knowing when a heart is right.
We can’t show others what’s inside us and ask them whether or not
it’s correct.
But, when it comes to a body, even a child could tell at a glance!
Everyone has an instinctive understanding of what a beautiful
body is and how it is used.
Therefore, without having to ask anyone, you can find ways to use your body while listening to it.
Try to discover ways to use your beautiful body.
You’ll find that you’ll enjoy your time with yourself
more and more.
I only hope that we may all wake up to the wonder of our bodies and learn to follow the path to a happy life.
A posture walker is someone who walks while maintaining good posture.
I’m not here to make any overly sweeping statements or insinuate that posture
walking is the best way to walk.
There are many approaches to walking in this world. And
posture walking is just one.
If my style of posture walking would be helpful for you,
I would be pleased to have you use it.
I have confidence.
I am proud with the knowledge that this is the best muscle
training for a most gracious and beautiful body and soul.
Start your own upward spiral of happiness—no one else can do it for you.
